So, the RIAA is up to its usual god complex. Here's the latest: Is the RIAA Pulling a Scam on the Music Industry?
What it means in a nutshell:
If I recorded a song in my garage, then used it on my own personal radio station (assuming I could do either), the RIAA has the right to then collect royalties from me, for playing my own song. Then to get those royalties back, I'd have to pay them a subscription fee...
And I keep waiting for this to make sense. You know it'll be challenged in court, but considering some past cases, it could be years before an actual verdict is handed down. :Sigh: So much for fair use...
